Jack
Sparrow is a leopard Appaloosa I recently got. I ride him English and
jump with him as well. That's s the plan anyway! He is 15.2 hands high and is
a real sweetie. He is kind of a drama king though, I have to do some
desensitizing with him. He also bucked me off yesterday and I have an injured
foot but oh well, they say you're not a true horsewoman until you bite the dust!
He loves to go on trails and attracts a lot of attention from by passers
because of his color! He is great around small children and I can also put a
cat or puppy on his back and he is really good about it! He has a low
centered head because the previous owners made the poor thing go through the
peanut-trolley walk and low head in Western pleasure. I have to use a wide
English saddle because of my specialty so it doesn't pinch him. I am working
with holding his head up when he rides, but other than that he really makes
me feel like I have my old horse, who died of old age earlier this summer,
back with me again!
