Pokey
is our Ball Python, and he is eighteen years old. He used to be abused,
but is now a very sweet snake who loves to perch on glasses and cuddle.
Pokey came to us when he was five years old and only eight inches long. He was
severely abused and not in good health. You can kind of tell as his eyes look
a bit cloudy, and he is blind, probably because his early life. He should
have been twice that length at least, that is how badly he was treated.
Well, he's eighteen years old and four feet long now, and even better, he has gotten
healthier and friendly. He is completely blind and earned his name because
he gets up in your face all the time, as he likes to "taste test" you
because he cannot see. He loves to take naps with us and every once and a
while he yawns in your face (this is so cute!). He loves to go outside to
get some sunshine and his favorite places are the top of my head and on my
glasses, as you can tell!
