There
are my parakeets, Oscar and Pixie. Oscar is the blue guy and Pixie is
the lovely lady in yellow. We live in Ottawa, and these birdies are fairly
new to me. I got them about two months ago. They were both born (well, hatched)
on February 12th, so they're just over three months old.
Oscar's the quiet timid one, he loves to sleep throughout the day or just sit
on a perch and watch everyone in the house. You can catch him playing with
the toys, but as soon as he knows you can see him, he'll stop and regain his maturity.
Pixie on the other hand is rambunctious, very hyper, outgoing and loud. She
squawks and screams all day long, unlike Oscar's quiet chirps. She loves the
toys and has played so hard on them that she has broken two so far. She just
loves to get in Oscar's face and flap her wings right in it, this usually
ends up in a fight or him jumping from perch to perch, trying to get away
from her. But as the night rolls on you'll find them cuddling, kissing and
cleaning each others feathers. I love these birdies dearly, loudness and all!
