One
day during my freshman year of high school, my mom asked me to run
inside the pet store for a few supplies. I was supposed to avoid all pets
and head straight for the food, because mom was afraid I'd puppy-eye her
for another pet. Well, I did. As soon as I saw little baby Ziggy, I wanted
him. He wasn't very "attractive", and many people had looked over him. He
had a big head and huge feet with a tiny body, and all over his ears,
hands, and feet were little scabs as though he had recently been treated of ring worm.
I called my mom and asked her to come inside and see him. After much
convincing, she told me to go ahead and get him, and she would look at him
in the car. She was surprised to see the little scraggly guy that I had
described as the most beautiful piggie I had seen in a while, saying she
had expected something a little different.
From that day on, Ziggy was my baby. He was very special to me because that
year, my mother and I both became very sick, and he was a little blessing to us.
He eventually grew into his head and feet, and now, he is the handsome man
you see today. In the first picture, Ziggy with his new friend Tiberius. In
the other one, Ziggy with his old friend Nero, who passed about eight
months ago. This picture was when Ziggy had just about reached his
adult-hood.
I love Ziggy, and I consider him a very special guy. I hope you enjoy his pictures, too.
