This
is Milo. He's almost two and is a Crested gecko. He's special because he
didn't have the best start in life as he was wasn't kept in adequate
conditions or with the correct diet. When I got him when he was about four
months old, he was very underweight and had multiple bone deformities and
problems moving which required medical treatment. Since then he's done really
well, putting on weight, and he's really active. He loves being handled, has
integrated into a group of girls and responds to his name. He still has a
kink in his spine and tail which unfortunately will never go away, but it
doesn't cause him any pain and only effects his balance a little so I'd say
he's a very happy gecko! :)
He eats about five medium brown crickets a day covered in calcium dust or a
vitamin powder called nutrobal and he gets a special fruit flavored gecko
paste called repashy to help him put on weight. He also gets puréed mango,
pear, apple or peach or waxmoths as a treat. Puréed mango is his favourite
and is what he's licking off the spoon in the picture!
