Hi,
I'm Bella wishing you a Happy Independence Day, because I am one
independent bird! I was living at "Top Dog Kennels" for several years. This
is where my new Mom and Dad take their dog to get him groomed every spring.
This year they saw I was for sale, so they brought me home. Since I spent so
much time around dogs, I can bark and growl really well. Then I cry like a
little puppy. Mom took me to the vets to get my wings, nails and beak
trimmed. Dr. Moore spent a lot of time with me. When she took me out of the
cage, I just leaned my head on her chest. She gave Mom a lot of good advice
on how to take care of me.
Then, Mom and Dad bought me a bigger cage. This thing is six feet tall and
over three feet wide! I have all kinds of perches and toys. There are four
bowls, one for water, one for peanuts (my favorite), one for the seeds, and
the last for treats. Since everything can be a toy, Mom gives me jar lids,
balls, corn cobs and lots and lots of cardboard to chew up.
When they say "ROCK AND ROLL," I bob up and down and dance. That makes them
laugh. Sadly, Mom and Dad are in there 60's and I can live fifty years. They
have made arrangements for someone to take care of me when they are gone.
(People need to think about their pets.) But for now, I am going to enjoy
every minute I can with them. Every morning I give my Daddy a kiss when they
uncover me. Have a good and safe holiday!
Your friend,
Bella
