Scamper,
Scamp for short, is a blazed, capped variegated Fancy Rat, who is
right around four months old. He's smart, sweet, and extremely devious, as is
his brother, Skipper. His currency of choice is peanut butter, and he'll do
just about anything to get it!
Scamp is devious; he will climb the curtain in their play area and ambush me
from above (jump on my shoulder). He'll try to steal treats while Skipper's
patiently earning them. They are both litterbox trained, and tricks include
spinning in circles, rolling over, walking on two legs, playing tag, they
come by name, climb up to my shoulders on command, and give kisses. Both are
affectionate and cuddly, but playtime is a riot. Lots of playful ambushing,
hopping around, wrestling, and boxing. Skipper is almost playing fetch with
me (he will chase a ball, or take it from me and run off with it). But Scamp
is the smart one - he figured out how to open the cage, so they're only in
there when they want to be. He was also the first to pick up on most of their
tricks. We all reside happily together in Missoula, Montana.
