is now the Year of the Snake in Chinese culture, and so we'd like to
introduce our Gaia! My fiance and both enjoy her. She's even more docile than
most ball pythons are. So far there doesn't seem to be anything that phases
her. She's also pretty big for her again. She seems to get along with our
dogs as well.
She's my fourth or fifth snake, but she's my fiance's first. I had wanted to
get another snake since I had moved down to Orlando, and my fiance had always
wanted to have one but his grandparents, who he lived with, would never allow
a reptile in their house.
We had been talking about getting a snake for several months after he moved
down last March. Once we had the money to get an enclosure and a snake,
that's when I went out and got her. I told my fiance the night before that I
would go to Petsmart since they where having a sale on their reptiles. Gaia
is a very docile snake, even in comparison to most other ball pythons, but
she is very inquisitive. She likes to climb on anything she can get on to,
and if we have her out and have our computer headphones on, she will climb on
them and sit on top! She's almost like a cat in the way that she will go in
what ever direction you don't want her to. And once she's out of her cage,
she just moves and doesn't stop. She doesn't mind the dogs, having been nose
to nose with both of them, and was just curious, and the dogs don't mind her, either!
