This
is Kiwi, one of my two piggies! (What I like to tell people about him
first is that he was named after the bird, not the fruit, because he has
little brindle-colored patches on his fur that remind me of a Kiwi bird's feathers.)
This piggy definitely likes to snuggle; during his floor-time, if he isn't
following me around, he will climb right into my lap for a little cuddle. He
also enjoys hay and cucumbers and will popcorn about his cage when you give
him some, making happy noises. He'll also popcorn and wheek in response to
his name or a "piggy piggy piggy!", and on very rare occasions he will even chirp.
Although loving towards me, Kiwi doesn't get along with my other pig,
Neville, but the two can see each other from the top floor of their cages and
will sometimes talk to one another, or have contests to see which can wheek
the loudest when I'm getting their hay out! Sometimes they'll have a third
contestant as my parakeet, Blue, has learned to mimic their little squeaks,
which will rile them up again. Even though I wish they could enjoy each
other's companionship, it's still really nice to give both of them their own
snuggle time alone with me.
