Biggie
and Little are my Congo African Grey parrots. Biggie is a boy, and
Little is a girl. They are very special birds, and as you can tell, do not
mind getting their pictures taken! They get along extremely well, not only
with each other but with my Quaker parrot, too. They will even permit him to
groom them (Video of grooming.)!
They are good birds, and they love to do things together as much
as possible. They eat together, play together, and explore their jungle gym -
all together. It is important to give African Greys plenty of toys and things
to do, things to take apart, and things to just explore, because they are
very intelligent birds, and can get bored otherwise! Anything is a toy to
them, whether it is a hard plastic bottle cap, or a tasty cinnamon stick!
They are great talking birds, too! They love to copy me and they eat at the
table. When we have chinese takeout, I swear that have as much fun tearing
apart the Styrofoam container as they do sampling the rice! They are my best
friends! They enjoy doing what I do and being apart of that, and they are not
caged up. Both enjoy "bathtime" - we fill a basin with water and they have a
grand time splashing about! They will watch TV with us, and even know how to
"give kisses" when asked. They get along with my daughter very well, too -
and not every parrot does well with kids! Biggie and Little are part of the family!
