Buddy
is sweet as pie! He is very cuddly. When I first got him, he was a bit
shy. I got him at a pet store. The other cockatiels bullied him sometimes,
but he was still very curious. He loves to explore, and chew on my bracelets.
When I have to put him back in his cage, he'll go in like a good bird. But
when he realizes that I'm leaving the room, he'll say little "Chirp? CHIRP?!
CHIRP!!" Because he wants to snuggle, not be left in his cage. Sometimes at
night he'll get night-frights, meaning nightmares, and I have to get him out
and cuddle. After a cuddle he'll always feel better.
He gets along well with my sister's cockatiel, Pearl. Pearl's just a little
bit picky about personal space, and Buddy just tries to play. We're switching
him over to a pellet and fruits/veggies diet, because seeds aren't very good
from him. (They can have heart problems if they eat seeds all their life).
Buddy likes to sit outside on our deck and explore, and listen to the outside
birds. The gray markings on his face are called "Dirtyface" markings. Not
very nice, is it? Well, that's what some cockatiel breeder named the marking,
so Buddy's a Pied Dirtyface Cockatiel. Even though I've only had him for a
short time, I feel like we're best buds forever!
