Hello,
I wanted to tell everyone of how my heart overbrims with love for
Mandarin, my orange flame-pinstripe crested gecko. Mandarin is very
special to me as he's been with me since the very beginning of his life
when he emerged from his egg. His coloring also makes him very special
because he looks nothing like his parents-especially with how thick his
pinstripes are-none of his parents had this-and Mandarin is also the
biggest Crestie I've ever seen before! He weighs 50 grams! That is really
big for a male Crested gecko. I'm just so proud of my big boy.
Mandarin is special to me on so many levels, but most of all, Mandarin is
special to me because of the special bond we share. A lot of people don't
think that you can form close relationships with geckos, but I know that
is not true. In the evenings I will see Mandarin on the glass doors of his
tank, staring at me, he seems to be begging me with his eyes to take him
out. And when I do open the doors, I don't need to take him out, I will
just put my hand in front of him and he will climb out on me of his own
free will. Sometimes he will climb up to my shoulder or cuddle down my top
(he could stay there for hours). I shower his little face with kisses
every night and sometimes he will bite my lips and give me his mating
call. It's so sweet.
Mandarin is turning four years old on April 20 so I wanted to wish my
precious boy a Happy Birthday!!!
