Burton
is a standard agouti, self rat - that's what his coloring is
called. Burton was born a wild rat (Rattus norvegicus). I found him and
his brothers in hay, and saw his mother was killed by a dog. So I
immediately took them home, and trained them and socialized them so they
could all be pets. It was really difficult, and I had a lot of doubt,
"should I do this?" But he quickly fell in love with me and I fell in love
with him, too. He's very clever boy, very smart, and although he's old
already (two is old for a rat) he still readily wants to learn.
