is Dodger Copper Penny a.k.a. Penny. Penny has been with my family
for seventeen years now and I can't imagine life without her. She's become such a
major part of my life. We don't know much of her history other than she
was born in Michigan and was used for Cutting and Reining for several
years. When she came to Pennsylvania at the age of nine my mother bought her
for my sister. Penny became my sister's Showjumper as well as whatever
else my sister wanted her to do before she retired her when she was sixteen.
With me she's my main trail horse, but I still take her to fun shows,
judged trail rides, obstacle challenges, etc. She doesn't act her age at
all and can still go riding all day long. She follows me without a lead
and is perfectly happy to just stand to be brushed all day. Penny loves
her treats too and isn't very picky about what she eats. She knows when
I'm upset and she'll just rest her head on me until I feel better. She has
her moments when she's a bit of a witch, but it's just all part of her
personality and we work through it. She will always hold a special place
in my heart no matter what.
