||Seven years old|
is Ársól fra Stald Svea. Ársól (or Svea as she's also called) is a
lovely seven-year-old Icelandic Mare. She's really playful and loves food,
the best part of the day for her is when it's feeding time. She's really
friendly and cuddly. Her favourite thing to do is tölt and jumping in the
forest, even though she finds the trees and leaves to be a bit scary some
times ... you never know when a leaf will bite you, you know! She's a real
egoist, and not many of the other horses like her, a real Diva! But she's
really friendly to other people and loves the attention. Isn't she adorable?
For those unfamiliar with the term, tölt is a four-beat gait without a
moment of suspension. In tolt, a horse has always either one or two feet
on the ground, the two feet are alternately in lateral and diagonal pairs.
Tölt's tempo can range from working speed right up to racing speed and a
fast tölting horse can reach similar speeds as a gallop. The horse carries
itself proudly and gives a very smooth ride, enabling the rider to cover
long distances without tiring.
