Sprite
is my one year old parakeet. My grandmother found her, in a field
in the middle of the country in Ohio! She had been starving, but happy as
could be to have company. I took her, and brought her out to Montana with
me, after making sure she was healthy and everything. Since then, she has
become the sweetest bird, with the biggest personality. She is constantly
singing along with my music, singing to the birds outside, and yelling,
literally yelling, when the neighbor's dog won't stop barking. It is
always so fun to watch her grab something like a paper towel and bounce
around, chattering, and often rolling onto her back and playing with it.
She got her name, not for her color, for when I named her she was in a
shoe box and I couldn't see her, but for the fact that a sprite is a happy
forest fairy. It was just ironic that her colors matched her namesake drink's logo!
