This
is Lucifer, though his nickname is Buddy. Lucifer is our family's
Fancy Bearded Dragon. We've had him since he was small enough to fit in my
hand. He's now six years old and a foot and a half long. He currently
resides in my room, where he's in view of the window and can see outside,
which stimulates him. He's fed wax worms, meal worms, and crickets. I've
also fed him earth worms from my back yard. He's incredibly resilient;
he's accidentally been stepped on, twice, and has lived through it.
We take him outside and to the beach during the Summer, where many people
begin as fearful, but end up petting him once realizing how tame and kind
he is. He's kind to our cats and likes to rest on the members of the
family and have his soft chin stroked. He doesn't like having his rough
skin touched because it tickles him. I hand-feed him and he never bites my
hand; he has a good aim of his tongue.
Buddy as Lucifer is usually called, is special because he's tame and kind,
doesn't bite, and enjoys physical contact. He's kinder than a puppy and
will handle the touches of those who aren't aware that his rough skin is
ticklish, without reacting aggressively. He's the most tame lizard I've
had. He's still healthy and seems that he's ready to go for some more years.
