Azami
is my little female hedgehog, she is an Algerian Chocolate Chip
Snowflake African Pygmy Hedgehog. How's that for a mouthful of a name for a
little thing like her? But the name describes her pretty coloring, with
bands of brown on many of her ivory-colored quills.
Azami is a fairly new addition to our family. She is a sweet girl but has
her days when she can be a handful. She is nuts about running on her wheel,
so she is a very fit gal. Some of her favorite treats include apples and mealworms.
Her favorite activities include sleeping & playing with her big red ball.
Occasionally she likes to snuggle but she is very curious and would rather
explore her surroundings than anything. When she is tired out from all her
busy explorations, she'll sometimes want a good snuggle! On the odd
occasion when she doesn't want to be bothered she will roll up in a ball
and stay that way until we leave her alone! In the wild, that's a defense
mechanism, but with her, it's just a clear signal of her mood. We love her very much!
