Thistle, the Pet of the Day
Name: Thistle
Age: Ten years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Rabbit
Home: Ontario, Canada

Thistle came in to Rabbit Rescue's care in April 2003. She was dumped outside of a shelter in the rain with five guinea pigs in a small cage. She was emaciated and losing her fur. She had an abscess on the side of her neck and required immediate surgery. The shelter she was dumped at was unable to care for her due to her medical condition. I took one look at this poor sad little girl and knew she would be staying with me forever. Over the nine years I have had her, she has blossomed into a wonderful and loving bunny. She is bonded to her best friend, Katanga (he was rescued after being dumped outside and hit by a car!). Thistle lives each day to the max, and loves her treats and greens, and lots of petting.

We all love Thistle very much and are so lucky she came into our lives. She is my hero for being such a fighter and having such a great spirit and zest for life.
