Say
hello to Constantine, Con for short! I met this cute bundle of
feathers while working at a pet shop and she stole my heart. I quickly
became her favorite person and by a stroke of luck was able to bring her
home. The first week of our living together was frightening and
exhilarating at the same time as I was now learning first hand about her
upkeep than reading about it from a book. I made some mistakes but she
forgave me and we grew close. We've been together for three months now and
our bond grows stronger each day. She's made me so bird crazy I plan on
building a huge aviary and expanding my flock just so that I can surround
myself with these amazing little feathered people. It still surprises me
that this passion started because one little bird thought I'd make a good
pet and made me take her home.
Con's very independent but she loves her mama and loves to ride around on
my shoulder wherever I go. She enjoys riding in the car, chewing on my ear
and finding ways to steal food from me. If she wants something I'm holding
she spins in a circle often to the point of falling off whatever she's
standing on. Con likes to climb in her Happy Hut then growl at me until I
go over and slowly lift my hand then reach in and grab her while giving
her a gentle shake to set the Hut swinging. This is our nightly ritual
before bed. She loves to cuddle with me at night in her fleece blanket
while I give her neck rubs and has a weird fetish for sticking her beak
into my ear. Con has a very resilient personality. She seems to enjoy
change and adapts pretty fast to anything that she's introduced to. She's
friendly with anyone she meets and had never bit anyone. She's great
little bird with a mind of her own and she isn't afraid to let you know it.
