This
is Speckles. He is a male Crested gecko and is now five years old.
Speckles is a very special member of our family as he helps me share the joy
of keeping geckos with many, many other people. You see, Speckles goes to
all the reptile shows we do, for our business
Supreme Gecko and he has
been held by several hundred people, many handling a reptile for their very
first time.
One time every show, someone walks up to our table that has never held a
reptile before. Before they leave they willingly hold Speckles. If you could
see the look in even one of these folk's eyes. That's what it is all about
and Speckles is the one that has made it happen.
Other than 'Stay!' he doesn't know any tricks, but he doesn't need to.
Speckles doesn't greet me at the door when I come home at night like a dog
or cat might, but he does enjoy being held and going to the shows. He
certainly is very social though as he climbs from customer's hand to
customer's hand at shows, all very happily.
