I
happened to get this shot while taking random pictures of my girls. Mona is
the gerbil in front, who is staring straight at the camera with her adoring
eyes. Lily is the lighter gerbil on the wheel.
Lily is the slightly older sister to Mona and a little bit bossy! Whenever I
stick my hand in their cage to feed them sunflower seeds, Lily is always the
first to get to the treats. What Lily has in boldness, Mona has in sweetness.
She's a gentle soul with deep intelligent eyes and a soft demeanor. She's a
true sweetheart, and she's a gorgeous specimen of a gerbil, because her fur
is perfectly smooth and shiny all the time ... even in humid weather!
(Gerbils sometimes look scraggy if it's too humid.) They're both very
adventurous and (like most gerbils) their favorite activities include running
on their wheel, burrowing and most of all ... chewing! I love them!
