Ancoma
is just as special as can be, and is very important to me. She, for
her species (boa constrictor imperator), is a very beautiful lady - she is
pretty dark, has beautiful contrast between light scales and black scales
and, what is the most important - in full sun she shines like she was made of
the most beautiful jewels. It's really amazing to watch.
She is also very nice-tempered, she can show you that she isn't in a good
mood, but never bites. Her character is very interesting, very unique.
Her name comes from oryginal "Ankoma" - it's, like natives says, the
Madagascar's demon ghost that lives in one kind of snake. (There wasn't an
indication of what kind, but I guess they meant Sanzinia madagascariensis.)
When one of the people from Madagascar sees this snake, he or she has to kill
it immidiately to avoid a terrible curse - very sad and sick, but it's true...
I got this idea when I got her and she slowly came out from her box - it was
already dark in my room - a big, almost black snake with dark shiny eyes.
That was awesome feeling, like it was really some kind of demon. She is about
160 centimeters long and heavy (not sure how many kilos), but very mild when
I handle her. Then she is quite the opposite when it comes to feeding time!
She is very special to me.
