Guya, the Pet of the Day
Name: Guya
Age: Three years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Uromastyx Lizard
Home: Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Guya is a cute little female Uromastyx lizard that I got last summer. She is a vegetarian and loves anything green and leafy especially Bok Choy and any vegetable with a bitter taste! I already had a male Red Nigerian Uromastyx named Spike when I got her. They got along perfectly right from the start and are very good company for each other. The male is usually brightly colored with black stripes on their abdomen and the female is more plain and no stripes on tummy. They mostly eat their vegetables and sleep piled on top of each other under the heat lamp. Guya was very nervous and would try and get away from being held when I first got her. She was not used to human attention but now she is a big baby and loves to be held and does not try to run when I put my hand in her aquarium. These lizards are very friendly, gentle, easy to look after and they do not make noise or smell! They are the best pet and I really like having them... I will be rescuing another female soon, too. Spike will be happy, and we hope Guya will, too!
