This
is Mr. Pickle, a very special little fellow in my life. He is a
Siberian hamster/Russian winter white dwarf hamster. My brother, our mum
and myself all fell in love with him as soon as we saw him. We bought him
on my birthday, the 29th of October. Two weeks prior to purchasing him we
sadly lost our well loved dwarf hamster, Flower, and as we all took the
death hard we decided we would just go and have a look, not wanting to
rush into buying another hamster. But, as soon as we saw him, our hearts
melted. Some people believe that hamsters can't love you back, the way a
dog or cat does, nonsense, I believe my hamsters love me, and Mr. Pickle
is no exception. When I call his name he will stand on his little back
legs, come up to the edge of his cage and look for me. He is adorable!
As for his name, well we decided if we got another hamster it would be
something flower related, after the death of our previous hamster, Flower,
like Petal or Daisy, but Mr. Pickle is obviously a male. Collectively we
decided Pickle was a pretty cute name for an equally cute hamster, but as
the weeks went on the name turned in to Mr. Pickle!
Mr. Pickle has also never once bitten, or even tried to bite us, just like
our previous hamster, we like to say that the spirit of Flower lives on in
Mr. Pickle, making him an extra special hamster. He is so friendly and
will happily climb onto my hand if I place it in the cage, and he goes
crazy for sunflower seeds, too.
