I
would like to introduce my pure bred pygmy goat Oreo! I have always
loved goats, this year I was lucky enough to purchase my very first goat,
her name is Oreo!! It's really hard to describe her in words, most people
when they meet her say "HOLY COW that's a friendly goat!" She is my baby,
she enjoys tons of attention, being carried around, and instead of being a
normal goat and running around when outside, she sits at the door yelling
"MAAAAA MAAAAA" until I come out to play.
I call her the queen of the farm, one thing she likes to do is guard the
door step to ensure no dogs are allowed near the door unless she decides
to let them in. Oreo now has a new friend named Chips A hoy, or Chips for
short. He was a very shy goat, but she brought him out of his shell. We
just recently found out the exciting news that they are due to have a baby
this spring. The gestation period for goats is 145-150 days. She should be
due near the end of February - early March. I definitely feel like goats
have made my everyday life a little brighter ;) If you are at a petting
zoo, don't forget to pet the goats!
