Claire
was born on July 4, 2009, so she's three years old. She's a reptile,
an Australian Pagona Vitticep, better known as a Bearded Dragon. She's more
than a pet to me, she's my baby. In one photo she is about four months old. She
didn't have her cool orange color yet.
Claire has spunk! Her personality shines through in her photos. When reptiles
are small you can't tell if they're a male or female. I thought she was going
to be a boy, so she started as "Spike," my male beardie. Even when Spike got
old enough to tell the gender, I was in denial for a bit about her being a girl.
I've played my keyboard/piano often and discovered with Claire that she does
not like scary horror film sounds I play. She likes to ignore me when I play
the deep bass sounding keys. I try to apologize and she continues with the
attitude and ignores me.
I also like cruising on my longboard at Tamarack Beach in Carlsbad,
California. Here's Claire asking me to take her with me to go skateboarding.
I call her my "Cali-Dragon." Doesn't she look like she's a graphic painted on
my board?
My Claire also likes tennis balls. She wants to eat them up. She really likes
the desert! We took her to Glamis, CA to the dunes. I couldnt put her on the
ground though, because she'd run away from me. We hung out and watched the
riders go by and she admired the big playground of sand. I know she wanted to
go running in it badly, but I knew I couldn't keep up with her! I've included
some of my favorite pictures of her singing, smiling and being too cool!
