Hi,
My name is Jack, I'm a female, four-year-old Harlequin Macaw. My Mom
adopted me, a year ago, from a rescue group. I am hybrid or a cross
between two macaw species - the Blue and Gold and the Greenwing Macaw;
that usually only happens in captivity. It also accounts for my unusual
orange coloring and those beautiful black and orange feathers on my face,
most people don't realize the white portion of my face is skin. I have
large vocabulary and learn new words all the time, Mom's happy none are
naughty words. I talk up a storm, but only when no one is paying
attention. One time my Mom fell asleep and I bit all the buttons off her
blouse. I love kids and will do all kinds of crazy, funny stuff around
them. I get along really well with the three other birds here, but they
are odd, don't fly, can't talk and have four legs; I get a real kick by
dropping things on their heads. And when they complain, sometimes mom
scolds them for making noise instead of me! Hee hee!
