Jeri is my late hermit crab. I had her for nine months, and I must say
she was the best hermit crab in the world. She was such a good hermit
crab. Jeri never tried to pinch anyone and she was never once
aggressive. When I first got her, she was not afraid of anything like
many hermit's I've owned. Sudden movements, loud noises, shaking, etc.
did not scare this girl! She sometimes even let me hand feed her if I
caught her in the right mood.
While I had her she enjoyed climbing on her choya wood, my cell phone,
ipod and especially my computer. As I was typing she would climb around
the keyboard and often be in the way. I never minded, this hermit crab
certainly had her own personality and character. Jeri enjoyed many foods
but she loved popcorn, every time I'd have a bowl I'd give her a piece
or two and she'd devour it, she would sometimes bury it in the mulch in
her cage! She enjoyed ripping up her sponge and toilet paper rolls I
would put in her cage, she was a very messy crab. The only thing she
didn't like was taking a bath, she hated water, but I will say that I've
never seen any dirt in her shell, at least she kept herself tidy. I
loved her immensely and still miss her. She was absolutely perfect for
me who likes active pets. She was my favorite hermit crab in the world
and I've owned many, I have three more now, but no crab will ever replace
her ever. She was so important to me, I was very upset when she died,
the night before halloween. I only had her for nine months, but people
don't realize these small creatures certainly grow on you after awhile.
Thanks to her, I love hermit crabs now. I will always try and own one,
honestly. They are great pets. The first time I saw Jeri in the pet
store, she was the only one moving and that's the only reason I picked
her. I guess I was lucky to find such an awesome animal in such a small
package. You are missed, Jerbear.
