I
have had Baby since he was six weeks old. He is a Freisian cross, and is
a steer. Right from the start he was very friendly, unlike our other
steers who seem to have a built in wariness of people. Whenever we go to
the paddocks to feed them he is always the first to come running, but
what makes Baby really special is that he saved my life or at least
saved me from serious injury. One afternoon I was out in the paddock and
at the time we had a steer that was a trouble maker and he must have
decided to take me out. He charged and the only thing I could do was
brace for the impact, but it never came. Baby ran in the way and shoved
the steer away from me and chased him.
On a normal day, Baby loves molasses for a treat, and loves getting neck
scratches. He spends his days grazing with his buddy, Razr. I will
always be grateful for what he did. He is very special to me!
