||Nine years old|
||Anaheim, California, USA|
stole my heart nine years ago when I walked into a pet shop that
featured fish, but had a cockatiel in the back of the store... Hootie.
Hootie put himself between a big piece of driftwood and the glass so he
could get as close to me as possible. I took him out to hold him and he
was so sweet I decided to adopt him. I had another cockatiel at home and
the two of them became quick friends!
Because Hootie was not hand fed he doesn't like hands, but likes to sit on
my finger and have me rub his head with my "beak" (nose). I can't even
remember how that got started, but every night I hold hootie and rub his
head and he gives me kisses. He does, however, love my toes, and will sit
on my foot and serenade them. He also loves to wolf whistle and rattle
around in a paper bag. As you can see by the photo he also likes to
supervise me when I iron! I didn't put him there... he kept flying over.
He likes to be involved in whatever you are doing. The sweetest thing he
does is to sit on my chest and fall asleep, and snooze to his heart's
I can't imagine my life without Hootie. He's such a special little guy...
and fills my life with laughter and joy!
