Stinky
is our female Double Yellow Headed Amazon. She got her name when we
were still deciding what to call her - I was cleaning her cage one day,
and said "are you a stinky bird?" and she got all excited, so that became
her name! She is a silly bird, and a colorful one, too. She loves to show
off by hanging upside down like this, and will make noises to get our
attention when she's like this, knowing it makes us smile. She is pretty
chatty, though most of the time she just talks to us is "parrot" but we
answer her anyway. It's always clear what mood she is in, and she's
usually pretty happy. She loves being outside her cage for playtime, and
swinging on her rope when she's in her cage. She's not a screamer like
some parrots, but if you want a silent bird, an Amazon is not the one for
you! She's part of the family, and everyone knows it.
