Shockie
was given to me when I was ten (he was also the same age) I only
had him for a short time before he was sold to a ranch with the option we
could buy him back if he was ever to be sold again. Well, eight months later
we got the call that the ranch was sold and all the horses where being
sold too, we told them we would come pick up Shockie that weekend. We
brought Shockie home and from that day on he was all mine. We spent the
next, about seven years together, witch where the best years ever for me.
When Shockie was eighteen I sold him, only because I was not spending any time
with him because of college and work and other things happening in my
life. It was a hard thing to do but it was the best for him. I had always
wondered what happend to him and how his life was. So about three years after
he was sold I started looking for him and found him he was used at a kids
riding camp, but Shockie was never a kids horse and I don't think he ever
will be. The lady that was in charge of all 33 camp horses told me I could
have Shockie back because he was not safe for kids. He didn't hurt anyone,
just is a big guy, and doesn't respond well to commands from kids - other
than me, of course, but that was different. I brought him home a few days
later and he will never be sold again. Shockie is an amazing horse with a
lot of heart.
He is now 21 years old, but we are so happy to be back together, and I
promise him every day that he will be here for the rest of his life, no
matter what! He is a great horse, and a great friend to me, and never
forgot me, even in those years we were apart. It's hard to get a good
picture of him, he's always nosy, so as soon as the camera comes out, he
usually is right up with his big nose blocking the lens, and checking if I
have treats. I love him a lot.
