This
is my horse, her Name is Tye, but her Ojibway name is Kaikak which
is a name of a hawk in a Ojibway legend. She is eight years old and she is a
chestnut frosted Appaloosa.
Tye is my first horse. I got her the end of November 2010. She has
already become a major asset to my life. I am keeping her at my friends
barn. She lives with Rocky, a quarter horse gelding and a Quarter/Appaloosa
cross mare named Tosha. It was a rocky start but they are one big family
now.
Last May I lost my father, and I needed a escape from everything.
Tye is it. She is very loving and is a sweetheart. She loves to be groomed she
would stand there forever if you let her. Loves her face being stroked.
And the weirdest thing she loves the inside of her ears scratched. I don't
know why but she does. I can't wait for the summer, were gonna have
loads of fun on trail rides! Her colour is purple. Everything of hers is
purple. Halters, grooming tools and saddle blanket. Im also ordering a
black and purple saddle. Pretty in Purple!! I found this name Kaikak in
a legend, and it involves lacrosse, which is a big thing in my family,
especially with my dad he taught me everything and he loved and was
amazing at it and he coached and played. So that's why I gave her that
name. She is a very watchful horse and is always the first to check
something out around the barn. I always say she watches like a hawk.
When I found that story, it made me think of my dad. And my dad always
wanted me to have a horse and now i too. So to honor him her ojibway
name is Kaikak. As I am Ojibway it fits!
We are already a great team and are building a strong relationship.
I'm looking forward to many rides and years ahead!!
