Kerensa
is our beloved little Holland Lop. We've had her since she was ten
weeks old. In all we have six wonderful bunnies, but Kerensa is my husband's
favorite (and the favorite of most people who know her) because she's so
cute and so sweet and so little! Kerensa's name means "love" which is very
fitting for such a darling girl. Her favorite things include being petted
and loved on and eating. We feel very fortunate to have Kerensa in our
lives. Now, why is she special?
Lots of reasons, but one big one is how she came to be our bunny. First we
have to go back in time a bit. Our first Holland Lop died in May of 2007
and I was devastated by the loss because she was a very precious little
bunny. Three years later we decided to get another Holland Lop girl because
I missed having one so much. In August of 2010, we went to the fair as
usual, but this time we were hoping to find a little loppy girl to take
home with us. There were lots of rabbits but Kerensa is the one I fell for
and had an instant connection with. When her breeder told us she'd already
been sold, I was heartbroken because I felt she was supposed to be my
bunny. The breeder thought to take down our phone number in case the other
buyer backed out. My hopes weren't very high, but the next morning we got a
call from the breeder saying she was ours! This may sound silly, but it was
one of the happiest moments of my life and I cried in the car on the way to
get her. Ever since, Kerensa has been a very special member of our family.
