||Eight months old|
||Standard Grey Chinchilla|

moment Rutherford sat in the hood of my jacket, it was love at first
sight. While all the other chinchillas at the breeder's farm were busy
sleeping, he was curious and was very eager to take a chomp out of my
index finger. As I held him in my arms, I thought to myself, "This is him.
This is Rutherford!"
Rutherford may not love being held, but he loves getting scratches and
massages. He'd angle himself in whichever direction to let me know where
he watches to be scratched and how he wants it. He's always there to greet
me when I come home from school, and kiss me goodnight when it's time for
bed. Whenever I feel sad or lonely, he never fails to cheer me up with his
overall adorableness and the funny antics he does. During the times that
I'm busy, he would sit at his "stalker corner" and stare at me until I
finally pay attention to him! I love to stick my finger into his cage, to
see if he'll clutch my finger and hold it with his cute little paw. His
toes are fuzzy, and when he sits on his butt, his feet curls inward and is
covered by his ring of a belly and fluffy fur. His favorite chew toy is
apple wood sticks, and when I give him one, he grabs it with his mouth
like a bone and drags it to his favorite corner of the cage. He has become
more than just a pet - he's a family member!
I hope you know how special Rutherford is!
