||Thirteen years old|
is Jesse, my thirteen-year-old Miniature stallion. Jesse is very sweet and
loves attention. He spends most of his summer days lying in the sun and
when winter comes he runs through the snow rolling and playing. Jesse
loves his best friend Fergie my eighteen-year-old thoroughbred mare. Jesse had
not seen another horse in three years before he met Fergie. When Fergie leaves
Jesse to go to a horse show or trail ride he paces the fence line waiting
for her to come home. Jesse is at the bottom of the pecking order. He was
kicked and abused by the other miniature horses he was with before me. He
was often beat up for the grain he was given by the goats he once lived
with. When I got Jesse he was scared of buckets that his previous owner
used to throw at him.
Although he was taught to drive a cart and be ridden by small children, he
would rather be brushed and hugged, choosing to stand completely still
when you try to move him. Jesse does what Jesse wants to do and nothing
more. Jesse has never bitten anyone and his favorite time of the day is
feeding time. He loves peppermints and apples, however, you have to break
them up because he tends to choke on them. He enjoys apple juice mixed
with his water once in a while as a treat as well. Jesse is an incredible
companion and a lot of fun to be around. Just don't cut his mane or
forelock because he gets very embarrassed and will attempt to hide his
face for days!
