Paulie
came to me in a very special way, four days after my 9th birthday I was
given a box with screens on each side. I opened the box and there was a baby
cockatiel who was promptly named Paulie. Paulie connected with me almost
instantly and we became inseparable. I love Paulie very much and he is a one of
a kind bird. Paulie's favorite activities include eating Cheerios, nibbling on
chips, and talking to himself in his mirror. Paulie can also knock on the bars
of his cage on command, say "Hi birdie" and imitate the alarm system. Paulie
and I have been together for ten years and I now consider him my little brother
(with feathers of course!)
Paulie can be affectionate when he wants to and is generally a very sweet
bird. Paulie does not know any tricks but he can tell what kind of chips you
are eating by the sound of the crackle of the bag. Lays potato chips are his
favorite and if he sees you eating them he will stick his little bird beak out
of one of the bars of his cage or start singing until you give him a tiny
piece. Paulie also loves getting his picture taken and firmly believes that
the vacuum cleaner is another bird because of the noise it makes.
I love him very much.
