Nibbler
Nestlé is an approximately seven-month-old rat who lives with my husband
and I in Texas. We own many rats, and Nibbler is a very loved member of our
little family. We purchased Nibbler from a pet store that mainly sold rats as
snake food, so she's not a fancy looking girl, a simple black and white
hooded. When we brought her home she was always nibbling gently at our fingers
to explore and get to know us, so her name came quiet naturally.
She is extremely affectionate and loves to give "kisses" and is most content
resting on our shoulders eating treats. Nibbler is usually very well behaved
and comes to her name and knows when she's doing something she's not supposed
to. In these pictures she had found a dog bone left on our bed by our dog,
and she just had to have it! She's a chunky girl and has never met a treat she
didn't like! She knew she wasn't supposed to be eating the dog bone, but she
tried to sneak it past us anyways, and refused to let go when I tried to take
it back! She has been nothing but laughs, fun, love, and joy since we got her
and has proven over and over again that rats who were deemed "food" by others
often turn out to be the best pets ever.
