We
picked up Bosco and Thumper on February 16th when they were only eight weeks
old and their ears were still straight up in the air. I really wanted to get
some lop rabbits since I already had a dwarf at home. We contacted a local
breeder who said that she had two girls left in the most recent litter, if I was
interested.
We had to wait about three more weeks to pick them up and they were so tiny!! We
brought them home and they have lived in the same cage ever since, and they are
the nicest little girls with great personalities. Thumper is the boss and
Bosco is the explorer!
After they run around the house for a while they both just plop down (like
in the picture) and relax for a bit. They are big girls with very big
appetites. They just love to eat!! They get their pellets but they love
special lettuces and parsley and once a week they get their favorite, a
slice of banana. Rabbits do not digest sugar well, so we don't give them
much more banana than that, but they sure enjoy that treat!
We love having them around and look forward to many happy years.
