I
would like to introduce my bunny Clover. My daughter and I found Clover at
the ASPCA, she was one of two bunnies needing a home. As soon as we took her
out of the cage and held her we knew without a doubt this sweet, gentle bun
would go home with us.
The big question was how would Benny feel, as she was to be his new mate? The
bonding process took all of ten minutes. I dare say it was bun love at first
sight. They have a bedroom, no cages for these two. They share their room with
a bird (Sammy) and (Jude) my hamster. They have boxes to hide and move, tubes
to run through, a radio to listen to and a sofa to jump on and relax.
Clover is the smartest rabbit I have ever had. She is also the most curious
and always hungry. She is often busy rearranging the boxes in their room, or
redecorating I suppose. She has been known to climb into Sammy the Cockatiel's
cage to get his treats and to destroy the hamster's cage to get their treats.
You would think I don't feed them, but don't let that fool you. Benny and
Clover are the world's most spoiled buns with their food. Blueberries,
strawberries, peaches, mangos, grapes, tomatoes, dill, fresh mixed greens,
home grown carrots and parsley, dandelions, and of course clover and the best
hay.
She is incredibly protective of Benny. He has an ongoing eye infection that
needs to be treated with medicine and when I pick him up and place him on the sofa
to administer the medicine she hops up to make sure he is ok. If his eye waters a
lot, she licks it.
When I lay on the sofa and read she jumps up into my arms for cuddles and
purrs when I pet her. She is so sweet and loving, smart and curious. A true
joy and a wonderful mate for Benny. They show such love and affection toward
each other it melts my heart.
