Sammy
is our delightful Orange Winged Amazon Parrot. He is so colorful, and
you can just see the orange on the edge of his wings in this picture. It shows
better when he spreads his wings, but when he does that he's moving too
quickly to get a good picture! From the blue and yellow on his head, to the
green and orange, he is a rainbow of brightness in our home, especially in the
winter months, which can be cold and grey here in Maine. He is also a lively,
cheerful bird, and really enjoy tearing the bark off sticks, chewing apart
anything we let him get his beak on, and playing with his plastic key ring and
other toys that rattle and make noise. He sometimes hollers to the birds he
sees outside the window, but doesn't seem too interested in them. He is easily
the most exotic creature in our small town in western Maine, and proud of it!
