This
is my beautiful Ruby bird! Ruby Aquila is her full name and it means the
Red Eagle - pretty accurate, right? She is my ten-month-old female Solomon
Island Eclectus. You can tell she's female just because of her color - the
males are bright green, and the females red, so a flock of them is quite the
sight - like Christmas on the wing! She is my beloved parrot and is just
wonderful.
She's very smart, not just beautiful, and has tons of personality. She loves
to play and "shakes hands", on command, with everyone who asks. She gets a
shower every day, and a real drenching two to three times a week, which she really
enjoys. Ruby lives in Culver City, California and loves the California sunshine.
Ruby would love to be pet of the day! And I think she deserves it for being
such a bright and cheery friend every day of the year!
