This
is Zavia, she is a Black Velvet chinchilla. Zavia travelled by plane to
come to my house and was very tired from her journey. She settled in very
fast and it didn't take long before I fell totally in love with her and her
antics.
Zavia is quite the acrobatic chinchilla. She zooms around her cage and leaps
from ledge to ledge and then runs non stop on her wheel. The only time she is
not really moving is when she is sleeping. She even eats perched either on
her wheel or on her food dish. I laugh all the time because she is a goof
ball.
Everyday I get kisses from her. She runs over to the cage door when I say
walk into the chin room. She is always looking for attention.
Her favorite treat is rose hips and also a pinch of oats. She loves when I
give her fresh hay at night and picks through it to find the best pieces. She
doesn't have a favorite place to sleep but her favorite item is her flying
saucer chinchilla wheel. She learned how to use it in less than a day and her
best trick is that she runs really fast and then leaps off the wheel watches
it spin and then jumps back onto it.
