My
pet's name is Elvira, and she is at least three years old. She is a chipmunk as
you probably guessed, and we both live in Shokan, NY. The way she comes when I
call her and the way she trusts me and my husband makes her a very special
pet. She jumps up from the deck floor to my lap. Then she climbs on the table
and eats sunflower seeds or peanuts out of my hand. She lives in a hole in
the ground all year around. We are always happy to see her when she comes up
after her winter's nap, and greets us with the cheery chattering. We do not
know how old she will live to be, but are so happy to have her as our little
friend for as many years as we can.
