I
got Bandit after my first hamster, Skitty, passed away. Bandit was much
shyer than Skitty was so I had to get used to a less bold hamster. Bandit did
start to get more comfortable with me and eventually he came to like only a
select few people in my house. He liked my parents and myself, but he hated my
sister. I still don't know why.
Bandit was pretty smart and he even escaped a few times from his cage. His
eyes always made him look wise and like he knew more than a young hamster
should. He was always polite and never chewed up any toys or supplies. Once
while I was playing with him, I accidentally knocked something off of my
dresser. I left him alone for a minute on my desk to pick it up and when I
turned back he was gone. I searched all around my room for over an hour, then
at some point I heard his water bottle clicking. I looked in his cage and
found him getting a drink, turns out he had gone back into his cage and had
been hanging around in there the whole time. I never felt so silly, but Bandit
came right back out and let me hold him. He passed away at about the age of
two. He just couldn't handle old age, but I am glad that he went peacefully though.
