||Five months old|
||North Carolina, USA|
is my little buddy, Titus! Titus is a Syrian, or Teddy Bear hamster,
and he's the softest cuddliest one I have ever seen!
Titus has an interesting adoption story. When I decided to get a hamster,
I did not do enough research on what kind to get, so I got the first cute
one I saw, which was a Robo Dwarf hamster. That hamster got out of the
cage twice, was too small to hold, bit me when I was putting his bowl in
the cage, and not what I wanted as a pet. I did more research, and I read
that Dwarf Hamsters are group animals, and they need a "buddy" to
survive. But I couldn't afford or handle two hammies, so I gave him back,
and he seemed quite happy to be with his siblings again. Now I had the
cage, the wheel, the water bottle, the toys, the food, bedding, dishes,
everything but a hamster.
On my twelfth birthday I went to the local pet store for my first time,
(can you believe that!) and fell in love with the tricolor syrian male,
who I quickly reserved and named, Titus! When it was time to take Ti home,
he wasn't scared of me at all, and he let me hold him!
Titus gets along great with all my five siblings, even the baby! Tanner,
my dog, likes to sniff him when Titus is safe in my hands or his cage.
Titus is the sweetest hamster I could ever get. He even comes when I call!
Oh, Titus would like to say a few things real quick. :) Hiya! My name's
Titus, but you can call me Titi, Ty, Tidy, Ti-Dye, Hammy, Bud, Cute Stuff,
Buddy, Puff, or Furball. I live in an awesome purple cage, and I am a
spoiled little hamster. I'd never dream of biting a person, and I like to
be held and talked to very much. Sometimes I get carrots, broccoli, or
cheese! My favorite snack is Swiss cheese, I practically inhale it! All of
Christina's friends love to cuddle me and feed me cheese. It's really fun
when they come over. Oh, Christina just fixed my wheel! I can't wait to
try it! 'Scuse me! Bye!
