||One year old|
||Largo, Florida, USA|
is nOOdles. I bought him at a bird show, something I would never
normally do, but my Quaker, Sprout, desperately needed a companion.
Sprout's cagemate, Zoot, passed away in March of 2008. Zoot was my dear
little Quakerman for twelve years and Sprout was with him for about four
of his last years with us. When Zoot passed, Sprout became absolutely
quiet. And for those of you who know Quakers, you will realize how amazing
and worrisome that is.
There was a bird show scheduled in Orlando and I went in hopes of finding
a sweet, young hand-raised Quaker that would make a good friend for
Sprout. We hit the jackpot when we found nOOdles! He is bright,
affectionate, sweet and gentle. He has also become Sprout's caretaker,
even though he is younger than Sprout by several years (nOOdles turned one
in May of this year).
nOOdles love to cuddle and munch on just about anything you give him and
he love to yell! Together with Sprout (and Quincy, another Quaker member
of our flock) they make a joyful noise! If you want a quiet bird, a Quaker
is not the one for you! We adore nOOdles and are so grateful to have found
him to help take care of our Sprout.
