Velvet
was born one summer day to her wonderful mother Miranda who is also
my horse. Within hours of her birth Velvet showed herself to be
exceptionally friendly, very curious and bold, and wonderfully trusting.
As she grew all those characteristics only blossomed. She is my little
"pocket pony" and comes running when she hears my call, just to get a
scratch and a pet. Everyone at the barn loves her almost as much as I do.
She is not my first baby, but I am sure she will always be my favorite.
When she is full grown, her coat will be smooth, sleek and solid black,
but no matter how big she gets, she will always be my "baby."
