This
is Axelle, she is my female parakeet. She loves to be cuddled and
kissed. Whenever someone she loves passes by the cage, she blows kisses or
coos to him/her. However, as sweet as she is, she can be quite a
mischievous little thing. She pecks her little brother, Milo, at a
moment's notice and plays all kinds of practical jokes on him (for
example, swinging the swing really fast and then jumping off in a way that
the swing hits him). She also is a clever bird, as she can somehow get out
of the cage herself (and sometimes even lock Milo inside!). Whenever
someone tells her she's fresh, she yells right back at that person!
Her brother usually doesn't bother to peck Axelle back whenever she pecks
him. He has the tendency to trip when he walks or accidentally steps on
Axelle (to which she responds by screaming at him).
All in all, both birds are great to have around. If I'm reading, Axelle
will sit on my shoulder and read with me. Even though the two of them
fight a lot, they really do show brother/sister love. They take naps
together on the same perch, kiss each other goodnight, and fly around the
house together (or, at least Axelle leads and Milo follows her). They
receive only the best because they are the best (Axelle agrees!)!
